For a 260 N.m output at 100 rpm (about 2.7 kW output), the heat loss is around 170 W — the aluminium housing and natural convection handle that in a ventilated enclosure, but a sealed cabinet may need forced air.

Schneider Electric lists this gearbox as obsolete. The part is sourced through independent surplus and broker channels — quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. For a line-down situation, the 120 mm frame size and 16:1 ratio are common enough that a parametric substitute from another planetary series may fit the same mounting footprint, but the shaft keyway, pilot diameter, and bolt pattern need field verification against the existing bracket.
Shaft loads and mounting limits
The output shaft is C45 steel and carries a maximum radial force of 1500 N at mid-span for the full 30,000-hour life, or 2000 N if you accept a 10,000-hour life. Maximum axial force is 2100 N for the long life, 2800 N for the shorter. These limits drop as speed increases above 100 rpm — the numbers assume 100 rpm. The shaft output seal is rated IP54, which keeps dust out and handles splashed water, but it is not rated for pressurized washdown or submersion. In a food or wet environment, you will need a secondary cover or a different gearbox with a higher IP rating.
