Torque ratings and duty cycle
The GBX1200321004F delivers 260 N.m continuous output torque at 100 rpm and 30 °C, with a maximum peak of 416 N.m under the same conditions — the continuous figure is the one to size against for steady-state conveyor or indexing loads. Rated service life is 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C, which matches the continuous torque rating; push the duty cycle harder and the life shortens proportionally.
Backlash and stiffness for positioning
Maximum torsional backlash is 12 arc.min — standard precision for a straight-tooth planetary, fine for most pick-and-place or rotary indexing but not for servo-grade positioning where you'd want ≤5 arc.min. Torsional rigidity is 13 N.m/arcmin, so the gearbox winds up about 1 arcmin per 13 N.m of applied torque before the output moves — this stiffness matters when the load reverses direction.
Sourcing an obsolete gearbox
Available through independent surplus and broker channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. No pin-compatible drop-in replacement from Schneider exists, so a BOM revision or adapter plate may be needed if you're replacing one in service.
Mechanical interface and environment
120 mm outer diameter housing in black anodized aluminium, shaft output rated IP54 — fine for dry indoor environments but not washdown; the seal at the shaft exit is the weak point. Shaft material is C45 steel, rated for 2100 N axial force and 1500 N radial force at 100 rpm over the 30,000-hour life — radial load applied at mid-span on the output shaft. Operating ambient range -25 to 90 °C, lubricated for life — no maintenance port for regreasing, so the 30,000-hour service life is the replacement interval.
