With a 25:1 reduction ratio and 700 N.m continuous output torque at 100 rpm, it handles the steady-state load of a conveyor or rotary table without oversizing the motor — the 1120 N.m peak rating covers acceleration transients and occasional overloads.
Torque, life, and the real-world limits
Continuous torque is 700 N.m at 100 rpm and 30 °C ambient; the 30000-hour service life is quoted at that same duty point — push the speed or the ambient above 30 °C and the L10 life shortens faster than a linear derate suggests. Maximum radial force Fr is 4200 N applied at mid-span on the output shaft for the full 30000-hour life, or 6000 N if you accept a 10000-hour service window — the difference matters when the driven load has a belt or chain pulling sideways on the shaft. Torsional rigidity is 41 N.m/arcmin — meaning a steady 41 N.m of torque twists the output shaft one arcminute relative to the input. For a positioning system with a 10 arcmin total backlash budget, the deflection under load eats into that allowance, so the actual repeatability at full torque is tighter than the no-load backlash spec alone suggests.
Obsolete — sourcing through surplus channels
Available through independent surplus and broker channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. The gearbox is lubricated for life — no oil-change interval in the field, which simplifies MRO but means the internal grease condition at the time of storage is what the gearbox runs on for its entire service life.
Integration notes for a retrofit
The 160 mm outer diameter and black anodized aluminium housing with C45 steel shaft match the GBX series footprint — if the machine already uses a GBX gearbox, this drops into the same bolt pattern and input pilot diameter. Shaft output protection is IP54 — fine for a dry indoor panel or guarded machine enclosure, but not for washdown zones or outdoor exposure without an additional bellows or seal cover on the output shaft. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C, so it can live inside a non-climate-controlled cabinet next to a drive that dumps heat, as long as the shaft seal and grease are rated for the sustained temperature.
