GBX 160 mm, 25:1 — what ships
Schneider Electric lists the GBX1600251383D as a planetary gearbox in the GBX series with a 25:1 reduction ratio. The gearbox housing is a 160 mm black anodized aluminium body with straight-cut planetary gearing, machined C 45 shaft, any-position mounting, and a factory lifetime lubrication fill — sealed for the service interval. Schneider marks the part obsolete; the BOM line stays open only through independent stock, so cross-checking the reduction ratio, shaft, and OD against the drawing before commit is the buyer's move.
Torque envelope and load rating
Continuous output torque is rated 700 N.m with a maximum output torque of 1120 N.m — the 1120 figure is the short-duration peak, not the duty rating. Service life is 30000 h at 100 rpm and 30 °C ambient; maximum radial load at mid-distance from the output shaft is 4200 N over the 30000 h envelope (6000 N if the duty is capped at 10000 h), and maximum axial load is 6000 N over the 30000 h envelope (8000 N at 10000 h).
Precision, efficiency, and acoustic signature
Maximum torsional backlash is 10 arc.min and torsional rigidity is 41 N.m/arcmin — the rigidity figure is the one that decides how the gearbox behaves under reversing servo loads. Efficiency is 94 %; no-load noise is 70 dB at 1 m and the moment of inertia is 5.81 g.cm² — both feed directly into the drive sizing math on the upstream servo or VFD.
Sealing, environment, and deployment envelope
Shaft output sealing is IP54 and the operating range is -25 to 90 °C — covers indoor panels and sheltered machine rooms, but the IP54 shaft seal is not a washdown rating.
