The GC2531M5 is a 5-pole modular contactor from the Schneider TeSys GC range, rated for 25 A in the power circuit. The coil is 220-240 V AC at 50 Hz, with a drop-out threshold of 0.2 to 0.75 Uc and an operating range of 0.85 to 1.1 Uc. Inrush is 34 VA at 20 °C; steady-state heat dissipation runs 1.6 W per pole.
The utilisation categories AC-7A and AC-7B tell you this contactor is rated for resistive and inductive loads typical of lighting and small motor circuits — not for heavy motor starting under AC-3 duty. The 25 A rating (Ith) at 50 Hz on the power circuit sets the continuous current-carrying capacity; the associated fuse is 25 A gL at ≤ 440 V. Mechanical durability is 1,000,000 cycles; electrical durability is 100,000 cycles under AC-7A or AC-7B duty. Operating time is 10-25 ms on opening and 10-30 ms on closing. Maximum operating rate is 300 cycles per hour at 50 °C. The contactor is rated for altitudes up to 3,000 m and can be mounted at up to 30° from vertical.
The GC2531M5 is designed to IEC 60947-5 (control circuit devices), VDE 0637-3, and IEC 61095 (household and similar electromechanical contactors).
Integration notes
Terminals are screw-clamp type. Power circuit accepts up to 6 mm² solid or 4 mm² flexible with cable end; control circuit accepts up to 2.5 mm² flexible. Tightening torque is 0.8 N·m for both circuits. The contactor ships as a set of 6 units.
