73 A motor circuit breaker for TeSys Deca
The GV3P736 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys GV3 range, part of the TeSys Deca family. It is rated at 73 A line current and uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit for motor protection. Rated for AC-3 utilisation category per IEC 60947-4-1, it switches motor loads up to 37 kW at 400/415 V AC, 45 kW at 500 V AC, or 55 kW at 690 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz. The magnetic trip threshold is set at 1120 A, providing short-circuit protection for the motor branch circuit. Phase failure sensitivity per IEC 60947-4-1 is built in.
Breaking capacity and coordination
The GV3P736 delivers 65 kA Icu at 230/240 V AC, 50 kA Icu at 400/415 V AC, and 50 kA Icu at 440 V AC. At 500 V AC the breaking capacity is 12 kA Icu; at 690 V AC it is 6 kA Icu. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 690 V AC. The unit is suitable for isolation per IEC 60947-1, meaning it can be used as a visible-break disconnect in the motor circuit. Power dissipation is 8 W per pole, which factors into enclosure thermal calculations when multiple breakers are ganged on a DIN rail.
Mounting and enclosure fit
Mounts on 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail or directly to a panel with three M4 screws. The connection pitch is 0.7 in (17.5 mm) without spreaders, so it occupies 55 mm width on the rail. IP20 finger protection per IEC 60529; the enclosure withstands IK09 impact. The operating altitude ceiling is 3000 m without derating. Rated for uninterrupted duty per IEC 60947-4-1. Mechanical durability is 50,000 cycles; electrical durability is 20,000 cycles under AC-3 conditions at 415 V and rated current.
Standards and compliance
Certified to EN/IEC 60947-2, EN/IEC 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1. Also complies with IEC/EN 60335-1 Clause 30.2 and IEC/EN 60335-2-40 Annex JJ for appliance applications.
