The GV4LE50S6 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys GV4 range, rated 50 A continuous and built for motor protection under AC-3 duty per IEC 60947-4-1. That AC-3 rating means it handles the inrush of a squirrel-cage motor during starting and switches it off under load — the 50 A figure governs the full-load motor current, not just the thermal trip setting. The magnetic electronic trip unit fires between 300 and 700 A for short-circuit protection, so it clears a bolted fault fast without nuisance tripping on normal start-up transients. Breaking capacity is the headline for panel builders doing fault coordination: 120 kA Icu at 240 V, 100 kA at 415 V, and still 10 kA at 690 V. That means it can sit upstream of a smaller MCCB or contactor without needing a current-limiting fuse for most industrial supply transformers. The 690 V rating also makes it usable on 600 V class Canadian and 690 V European line-ups.

Power dissipation is 6.1 W per pole, so three poles total about 18.3 W at full load — factor that into enclosure heating calculations.
