Motor circuit breaker for 37 kW at 400 V
The GV4PEM80B6 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys GV4 range, rated 80 A continuous and designed for motor protection per IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1.
Breaking capacity and trip technology
The trip unit combines thermal-magnetic and electronic elements: the magnetic trip is fixed at 1360 A (17× In), and phase-failure sensitivity is built in per IEC 60947-4-1, so it catches single-phasing before the motor overheats.
Panel fit and environmental specs
Dimensions are 6.1 in (155 mm) high by 3.2 in (81 mm) wide by 4.6 in (116 mm) deep, with a connection pitch of 1.06 in (27 mm) without spreaders or 1.4 in (35 mm) with spreaders — the spreaders give extra clearance for larger cable lugs. Rated IP40 (finger-safe) and IK07 (impact resistance), with pollution degree 3, so it suits industrial control panels where dust and light contaminants are present.
Durability and operating cycle
Mechanical durability is 40,000 cycles; electrical durability under AC-3 at 440 V is 14,000 cycles at 1× In and 7,000 cycles at full rated current. Maximum operating rate is 25 cycles per hour — this breaker is built for occasional switching, not continuous jogging. The continuous duty rating (IEC 60947-4-1) means it can hold rated current indefinitely without derating.
Carries CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, EN/IEC 60947-4-1, and EN/IEC 60947-2 approvals — accepted across North America and Europe without additional certification. Fire resistance tested to 960 °C (IEC 60695-2-11). Suitability for isolation per IEC 60947-1 means it can serve as a visible disconnect in the motor branch circuit.
