The GV4PEM80S6 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys GV4 range, rated 80 A continuous with an electronic thermal-magnetic trip unit. It is listed to UL 60947-4-1 and IEC 60947-4-1, making it suitable for motor protection in both North American and IEC-distribution panels.
Trip coordination and motor protection
The electronic thermal-magnetic trip provides adjustable overload protection (via the TeSys GV4 dial) plus a fixed magnetic trip at 1360 A — 17× In, which avoids nuisance trips on high-inrush motor starts while clearing bolted faults fast. Phase-failure sensitivity per IEC 60947-4-1 is built in, so a lost phase on the line side trips the breaker before the motor single-phases to destruction. Mechanical durability is 40,000 cycles — the breaker is designed for frequent start/stop applications on conveyors, pumps, and compressors.
Panel fit and environmental ratings
Dimensions are 6.1 in (155 mm) high × 3.2 in (81 mm) wide × 4.6 in (116 mm) deep, with a connection pitch of 27 mm without spreaders or 35 mm with spreaders. The gray RAL 7016 housing carries IP40 protection (finger-safe) and IK07 impact resistance, so it withstands incidental tool contact in an open panel. Terminals accept lug/ring connections up to 95 mm² (0.02–0.1 in²) with a tightening torque of 9 N·m.
