The GVAE20TQ is a front-mount auxiliary contact block for the TeSys Deca range, designed to snap onto the front of a GV2 motor starter or manual motor protector. It provides 2 normally open (NO) contacts, rated for 2.5 A conventional free air thermal current (Ith) and a wide operating voltage range of 24...240 V AC or 24...60 V DC.
The 2.5 A Ith rating sets the continuous current limit through the auxiliary contacts in free air — enough for signalling PLC inputs, contactor coils, or indicator lamps, but not for direct motor switching. The AC-15 and DC-13 duty ratings (120 VA at 110...120 V AC, 24 W at 24 V DC) define the inductive load capability: AC-15 covers solenoid valves and contactor coils, while DC-13 covers DC relays and contactors. The 100,000-cycle electrical durability at these ratings is the design life under those specific loads. Minimum switching capability of 5 mA at 17 V means the contacts can reliably switch low-energy signals like PLC inputs or electronic relays without needing a separate gold-plated contact block. Below this threshold, oxide films on the silver contacts may prevent conduction.
Front-mounting on the GV2 series means it clips directly onto the front face of the motor starter, occupying no additional DIN-rail width. Tightening torque for the screw-clamp terminals is 1.7 N·m — standard for a 2.5 A auxiliary block.
Certified to EN/IEC 60947-5-1 (control circuit devices), UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1. Also complies with IEC/EN 60335-1 Clause 30.2 and IEC/EN 60335-2-40 Annex JJ for glow-wire and flammability in household appliance applications. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 300 V per UL/CSA, 250 V per IEC.
