The GVAS056 is a shunt trip release (MX) from the TeSys range, designed to remotely trip a TeSys GV2 or GV3 manual motor starter-protector when the control voltage is applied. It operates on a 48 V AC 60 Hz control circuit, with a threshold tripping voltage of 0.75 to 0.2 Un and a control voltage tolerance of 0.7 to 1.1 Un.
Rated insulation voltage is 690 V AC per IEC 60947-1, and 600 V AC per UL 60947-4-1 and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 — this sets the maximum voltage the shunt trip can withstand in the circuit, not the operating coil voltage. The 48 V AC coil pulls 14 VA inrush and 5 VA holding, with 10.5 W inrush and 1.6 W holding power. Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles with GV3P and GV3L breakers, and 30,000 cycles with GV2ME and GV2P units.
Physical integration
Dimensions are 89 mm high, 18 mm wide, and 66 mm deep. It mounts directly onto the side of a TeSys GV2 or GV3 manual motor starter. Screw clamp terminals accept 1 to 2.5 mm² solid or flexible cable (with or without ferrules), and tightening torque is under 1.4 N.m. The on-load factor is 100 %, meaning it can be continuously energized at rated voltage without derating.
