The GVAS416 is a shunt trip release (MX) from the Schneider Electric TeSys Deca range, designed to remotely trip a TeSys motor starter on command. It operates on a 415 V AC 60 Hz control circuit and is rated for insulation up to 690 V AC per IEC 60947-1, with UL/CSA recognition at 600 V AC.
The release mounts directly onto compatible TeSys Deca starters (GV2ME, GV2P, GV3P, GV3L). Dimensions are 18 mm wide, 89 mm high, 66 mm deep — a narrow footprint that fits into a crowded DIN-rail enclosure without stealing space from adjacent poles. Screw clamp terminals accept 1 to 2.5 mm² solid or 0.75 to 2.5 mm² flexible wire; torque to under 1.4 N·m. Mechanical durability is rated at 10,000 cycles with GV3P/GV3L and 30,000 cycles with GV2ME/GV2P.
Electrical characteristics
Inrush power is 10.5 W / 14 VA AC; holding power drops to 1.6 W / 5 VA AC after the coil seals. The control circuit operates between 0.7 and 1.1 times nominal voltage (Un), with a tripping threshold of 0.75 to 0.2 Un — meaning it will reliably drop out when the control voltage sags below about 311 V AC on a 415 V line. On-load factor is 100 %, so it can remain energized continuously without derating.
