The GVAU055 is an undervoltage release (MN) for Schneider Electric's TeSys Deca frame 2 motor starters and breakers. It drops the main contacts when the control voltage falls to between 0.7 and 0.35 of the rated Un, preventing automatic restart after a brownout or power loss — standard practice for conveyor lines, pumps, and any load where unexpected re-energization is a safety or equipment risk. Rated for a 48 V AC 50 Hz control circuit, with an operating range of 0.85 to 1.1 Un, so it holds in through moderate dips but releases cleanly before the motor contactor drops out. Insulation voltage rated 690 V AC per IEC 60947-1, and 600 V AC per UL 60947-4-1 and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 — covers the vast majority of 400 V and 480 V motor circuits without derating.
The 1.4 N·m tightening torque on the screw-clamp terminals is the same as the rest of the Deca range, so panel wiring practices carry over.
DIN-rail mount, 18 mm wide, 89 mm tall, 66 mm deep. Fits the standard TeSys Deca frame 2 footprint — snaps directly onto the left side of a GV2ME, GV2P, GV3P, or GV3L breaker. No extra DIN space required beyond the breaker itself. Screw-clamp terminals accept 1 to 2.5 mm² solid or 0.75 to 2.5 mm² flexible, with or without ferrules. Strip length follows the standard Deca practice — the same tooling and wire prep as the breaker's own terminals. Mechanical durability is rated 10,000 cycles with GV3P and GV3L breakers, 30,000 cycles with GV2ME and GV2P. The difference comes from the internal mechanism of each breaker family — the GV2 series is lighter, so the release sees less shock per cycle.
Power draw and thermal
Inrush power is 8 W / 12 VA AC at pickup; hold-in drops to 1.1 W / 3.5 VA AC. The 100% on-load factor means it can stay energized continuously — no duty-cycle derating needed for a permanently powered control circuit.
