7-inch HMI for panel integration
The Schneider Electric HMIET6400 is a 7-inch colour TFT LCD touch panel from the Easy Harmony ET6 range, built around an ARM Cortex-A8 processor. It delivers 800 x 480 pixel WVGA resolution across 16 million colours, with 16 levels of brightness adjustment. The single-touch analogue resistive touch layer is suited for gloved operation on the plant floor. Rated IP65 on the front panel per IEC 61131-2, the unit withstands hose-directed water and dust ingress from the operator side — appropriate for food-and-bev, washdown, or dusty environments. The rear panel carries IP20, so the enclosure interior must be kept clean. Power is drawn from an external 24 VDC supply (+/- 20 %), consuming 9 W. Inrush current reaches 30 A, so the supply must handle that transient without dropping out.
Mounting and cut-out
Panel-mount by four screws through a 1.6 to 5 mm thick panel. The required cut-out is 190 x 135 mm.
Memory, runtime, and protocols
Device memory is 256 MB, with another 256 MB for user data and 128 kB backup memory for retentive data. The real-time clock is built in and rated for 0 to 50 °C ambient. Up to 200 application pages are supported. Downloadable protocols include Modbus, Uni-TE, and third-party protocols. Ethernet is 10/100BASE. The unit is programmed via Vijeo Designer Basic software.
The HMIET6400 carries IEC 61131-2, UL 61010-2-201, and CSA C22.2 No 61010-1-201 approvals. EMC compliance covers IEC 61000-6-4 (emission) and IEC 61000-6-2 (immunity). Low-voltage and EMC directives 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU apply.
