Panel PC for HMI and edge control
The HMIPSA65FD18W11 is a 15-inch all-in-one Panel PC from the Schneider Electric Harmony PSA6 range, built for machine-level HMI, data logging, and light edge processing. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 2024 LTSC 64-bit, so it integrates into IT-managed OT networks with standard domain-join and update policies. The Intel Core i5 1345UE processor (1.4 GHz base, 10 cores total — 2 P-core + 8 E-core) handles moderate visualization and data aggregation tasks without a separate industrial PC. Power is 24 VDC nominal, drawing 58 W under load. Inrush peaks at 30 A on startup — size the supply branch accordingly, especially if multiple units share a single 24 V bus. The front face carries IP66 protection, meaning it withstands hose-down and dust ingress in washdown zones; the rear is IP20, so the enclosure or panel back must keep the electronics side dry.
Display and touch interface
The 15-inch TFT LCD delivers 1920 × 1080 full HD at 16:9 aspect ratio with 16 million colours. Projected capacitive (PCT) touch supports multi-touch gestures and gloved operation — typical for food, pharma, or machine-tool environments where operators wear PPE. Backlight is rated for 70,000 hours at 25 °C, so the unit should outlast a typical machine lifecycle before noticeable dimming.
Mounting and cut-out
Mounts via panel cut-out (394 × 250 mm, +1/-0 mm tolerance) or VESA pattern. Four M4 screws secure it. Overall dimensions: 16.0 in wide × 10.3 in tall × 2.3 in deep (406.4 × 262.4 × 58.8 mm). The shallow depth leaves room behind the panel for cabling and the M.2 SSD slot. Cooling is natural convection (AN) — no fan, so no filter maintenance and no moving-part failure point.
Connectivity and storage
I/O includes two USB 3.1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A, three Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000), one DisplayPort (DP++), and two serial ports: one RS-232 (SUB-D 9) and one RS-422/485 (SUB-D 9). Baud rates span 2400 to 115200 bps on both serial links — non-isolated, so keep field wiring within the same ground reference or add isolation at the field device. Storage is a 128 GB M.2 SSD plus 8 GB DDR5 RAM on the same M.2 slot. The single M.2 slot means storage and memory share the connector; plan capacity at BOM freeze.
Rated for 0 to 50 °C operating ambient with 0.6 m/s airflow; storage from -20 to 60 °C. Pollution degree 2 (non-conductive dust only). Shock tested to 147 m/s² per IEC 61131-2; vibration resistance at 3.5 mm amplitude from 5 to 9 Hz. Listed to UL 61010, so it meets the safety standard for measurement, control, and laboratory equipment — expected for panel-mounted industrial terminals.
