Fit and deployment context
The HMIYP6M2R23P2: This module occupies the M.2 expansion slot inside the Harmony P6 rear panel — no external DIN-rail mounting, no separate enclosure. The two SUB-D 9 ports exit the HMI chassis directly; plan cable routing before panel close-out. Operating range is 0 to 55 °C ambient, storage -20 to 60 °C, with non-condensing humidity 10–90 %. The isolation on the RS232C ports is the key differentiator here: if your serial devices share a common reference with the HMI's ground plane, you risk data corruption or port damage. This card breaks that path.
