Auxiliary contact block for TeSys D contactor lines
The Telemecanique LA1-D11 is an auxiliary contact block designed to snap onto the front or side of TeSys D contactors and reversing starters. It adds one normally open and one normally closed contact, rated at 10 A thermal current (Ith) at 660 V AC, with a rated impulse withstand voltage of 6 kV. That 6 kV impulse rating means this block can handle surge transients common in industrial motor control panels without flashover — critical for maintaining isolation integrity in a distribution cabinet.
The 10 A Ith (rated thermal current) is the continuous current the contacts can carry in open air — this governs the auxiliary load you can wire through it, typically control relays, PLC inputs, or indicator lamps. Minimum switching capability is 17 V at 5 mA, so it reliably switches low-energy signals like 24 VDC PLC inputs without needing a separate gold-plated contact block. Operating frequency range of 25 to 400 Hz means it works on standard 50/60 Hz power and also on higher-frequency supplies found in some aerospace or variable-frequency drive control circuits. The two-pole design (1NO+1NC) is the most common configuration for feedback and interlock wiring in motor starter applications.
Snap-on mounting directly to the contactor body — no tools required for installation. Wiring terminals accept standard control cable; spring-cage or screw-clamp variants depend on the exact LA1-Dxx suffix. The block occupies one contactor slot and adds no additional DIN-rail footprint. For retrofits, verify the existing contactor accepts side-mount auxiliary blocks (TeSys D frames do).
