Overview
The LADN20R is a Schneider TeSys Deca auxiliary contact block, order code LADN20R, providing 2 normally-open contacts rated for 6 A switching current at 690 V insulation voltage. It uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² conductors and mounts to the front of TeSys D, TeSys Deca, and TeSys F contactors and reversing contactors.
Function & operation
As an add-on block, the LADN20R extends the control-circuit I/O of the base contactor without additional wiring to the main power poles. The 2 NO contacts close when the contactor coil energises, providing a dry signal for PLC inputs, status lamps, or interlocking logic. Rated making capacity reaches 140 A AC and 250 A DC per IEC 60947-5-1, with a permissible short-time rating of 100 A for 1 second at 60 °C — figures that cover inrush from pilot devices and small solenoids. A non-overlap time of 1.5 ms between NO and NC transitions prevents simultaneous closure during switching, critical for safety interlocks.
Applications
Auxiliary contact blocks of this class are used across motor control centres, conveyor systems, pump panels, and HVAC equipment to signal contactor state back to a controller or to chain multiple contactors in a sequence. The LADN20R fits panels where only normally-open status feedback is needed — for example, a run indication on a starter or a permissive signal for a downstream device.
Lifecycle & availability
The LADN20R is officially discontinued by Schneider. No direct replacement part number has been published. For existing installations, sourcing from surplus or broker channels is the typical route; an RFQ will confirm current availability and lead time. Buyers with active BOMs should evaluate the LADN20A (2 NO + 2 NC) as a functional alternative, noting the additional NC contacts.
