The LAEM8 is a mechanical interlock from the Schneider Electric Easy TeSys Control range, designed specifically to pair with the LC1E630 contactor. It provides a mechanical interlocking type for 3-pole (3P) configurations, ensuring that two contactors cannot be closed simultaneously — a standard requirement for reversing motor starters or changeover schemes where a simultaneous closure would create a phase-to-phase short.
The mechanical linkage physically blocks the armature of one contactor from closing when the other is already engaged. No wiring or auxiliary contacts are involved — it is a pure mechanical solution, which means zero electrical wear and no coil suppression to manage.
