It handles 1250 A rated operational current in AC-3 duty at ≤440 V, which means it switches squirrel-cage motors up to that current — in practice, motors around 560 kW at 380–400 V three-phase or 630 kW at 415 V. The 230 V AC coil (40–400 Hz) pulls in within 40–80 ms and drops out in 100–200 ms, a typical range for high-current contactors where controlled opening prevents arc restrike.
Ratings that govern fit
The AC-3 motor-switching rating is 1000 A at <55 °C, so derate by roughly 20% if the panel ambient exceeds 40 °C. Short-time withstand is 10 kA for 10 seconds at 40 °C — enough to coordinate with a 1400 A gG fuse up to 440 V without the contactor failing before the fuse clears.
Plate-mount only — no DIN-rail adapter for this frame size. The 438 mm width by 332 mm height by 238.6 mm depth requires a backplate with clearance for the power busbars (bar connections, 3 or 4 cables per pole). Control wiring uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1–4 mm² flexible or solid. IP20 with shrouds on the front face; keep the shrouds fitted during panel commissioning to maintain finger-safe touch protection per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106.
Designed to IEC 60947-4-1 and EN 60947-4-1 for contactors and motor-starters, plus IEC 60947-1 for general low-voltage switchgear. Rated insulation voltage 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 (1500 V per VDE 0110 group C).
