1400 A AC-1 contactor for resistive loads
The Schneider Electric LC1F1400M7 is a 3-pole contactor from the TeSys F series, rated for 1400 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) at 40 °C and 1400 A operational current (Ie) in AC-1 utilisation category for resistive loads. The 220 V AC control circuit (40-400 Hz) draws 36 VA holding power and 2200 VA inrush. This is a plate-mounted unit — no DIN-rail adapter — sized for bolted busbar connections up to 100 x 5 mm cross-section.
Lifecycle status: end-of-life (EOL) phase
The LC1F1400M7 is in end-of-life (EOL) status.
The 1400 A AC-1 rating governs resistive loads (heating, lighting, furnace banks). For motor duty (AC-3), this contactor is not the right fit — the AC-1 figure is the only utilisation category on record. Short-time withstand (Icw) is 8000 A for 10 s at 40 °C, giving selectivity headroom for upstream fuse coordination; the associated fuse recommendation is 1600 A gG at ≤ 440 V. Impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) is 8 kV, overvoltage category III, suitable for fixed-installation distribution panels.
Certified to IEC 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-1, EN 60947-4-1, EN 60947-1, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, and JIS C8201-4-1. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V per IEC/UL, 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalised) for humid environments.
Physical integration and wiring
Dimensions: 438 mm wide, 332 mm high, 238.6 mm deep. Plate mount only — no DIN-rail clip. Power circuit uses bolted busbar connections (bar cross-section up to 100 x 5 mm); control circuit uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid wire (with or without ferrule). Tightening torque: 58 N·m on power circuit, 1.2 N·m on control circuit. Heat dissipation is 36 W total, 150 W per pole in AC-1 duty — plan for panel ventilation or derating if enclosed.
