The 250 A AC-3 rating is the motor-switching current — it governs the maximum full-load current of a squirrel-cage motor the contactor can break under starting conditions. That translates to 75 kW on a 400 V supply. The AC-1 rating (resistive load) is higher, but for motor control, AC-3 is the one that decides fit. The contactor also carries an AC-4 rating (22 kW at 400 V) for plugging or inching duty, where the load is switched under full stall current. The insulation voltage is 1000 V, and the overvoltage category is III, meaning it's designed for fixed-installation panels, not plug-in equipment.
Mounts to a plate — not DIN rail, so plan for bolt-down installation with the 25 x 3 mm busbar or ring-terminal connections on the power circuit. The control circuit uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1–4 mm² flexible or solid wire. Dimensions are 170 mm high, 163.5 mm wide, 171 mm deep. The front face carries IP2X protection with shrouds, meaning finger-safe from the front once shrouded, but the sides and bottom are open for ventilation.
