TeSys F contactor, 1700 A AC-1, 240 V AC coil
The Schneider Electric LC1F1700U7 is a 3-pole TeSys F contactor rated for 1700 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) at 40 °C, with a rated operational current (Ie) of 1700 A in AC-1 utilisation category for resistive loads. The 240 V AC control coil operates at 40-400 Hz, with an inrush power of 2200 VA and a hold-in consumption of 36 VA at 20 °C. This is a plate-mounted unit — no DIN-rail clip — sized for bolted busbar connections up to 100 x 5 mm cross-section.
The 1700 A AC-1 rating governs resistive loads (heaters, lighting banks, power resistors). For motor duty (AC-3), this contactor is not the right choice — the AC-1 rating is the headline figure, and no AC-3 current is listed. The 1000 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) per IEC 60947-4-1 and 1500 V per VDE 0110 Group C sets the system voltage ceiling. The rated short-time withstand current (Icw) of 10,000 A for 10 seconds at 40 °C tells you the contactor can survive fault currents long enough for an upstream protective device to clear — coordinate the 1600 A gG fuse at ≤ 440 V as the associated fuse rating.
The LC1F1700U7 carries compliance with EN 60947-1, EN 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, JIS C8201-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1. Overvoltage category III and rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) of 8 kV. Protective treatment TH for tropical environments.
Plate-mount only — 438 mm wide, 332 mm tall, 238.6 mm deep. Power-circuit connections are bolted busbars (3 cables, 100 x 5 mm cross-section). Control-circuit wiring uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid cable (with or without ferrule). Tightening torque: 1.2 N·m on the control circuit, 58 N·m on the power circuit. The operating time is 100-170 ms opening, 40-75 ms closing. Maximum operating rate is 600 cycles per hour at 55 °C.
