TeSys F 2100 A AC-1 Contactor — Compliance and Application
The Schneider Electric LC1F2100V7 is a 3-pole contactor from the TeSys F series, rated for 2100 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) at 40 °C, with an AC-1 utilisation category for resistive loads. The 2100 A AC-1 rating means it handles high continuous resistive current — typical for large furnace banks, electric heating elements, or industrial ovens — without derating for motor inrush. Control circuit is 400 V AC at 40-400 Hz, with a hold-in consumption of 36 VA and inrush of 2200 VA. The part carries full certification to IEC 60947-4-1, EN 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, plus JIS C8201-4-1 — meeting the compliance documentation requirements for global panel builds and supplier-quality sign-off.
Plate Mounting and Panel Integration
Mounting support is plate — not DIN rail — so the contactor bolts directly to a backplate or mounting panel. Dimensions are 438 mm wide by 332 mm high by 238.6 mm deep. Power circuit connections use bars with a busbar cross-section of 100 x 5 mm, bolted connection; control circuit uses screw clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4 mm² flexible or solid. Tightening torque is 58 N·m on the power circuit and 1.2 N·m on the control circuit. The 36 W heat dissipation (200 W per pole in AC-1) must be factored into enclosure thermal calculations — at 2100 A, forced ventilation or a larger cabinet volume is expected.
AC-1 Duty and Short-Circuit Coordination
Rated breaking capacity is 3150 A conforming to IEC 60947-4-1. The associated fuse rating is 2000 A gG at ≤ 440 V. Short-time withstand current (Icw) is 10,000 A for 10 seconds, 7500 A for 30 s, 5500 A for 1 min, 4200 A for 3 min, and 3000 A for 10 min — all at 40 °C. The 0.1 mOhm average impedance at 2100 A 50 Hz translates to roughly 210 mV drop per pole at full load, which is consistent with the 200 W/pole dissipation figure. Operating time is 100-170 ms opening, 40-75 ms closing. Maximum operating rate is 600 cycles per hour at 55 °C.
Environmental and Altitude Ratings
Operating ambient temperature range is -5 to 40 °C; storage range is -60 to 80 °C. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalisation — humidity and corrosion resistant). Overvoltage category is III, with a rated impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1, and 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C.
