The Schneider Electric LC1K1210P5 is a TeSys K series contactor — a compact 3-pole unit rated 12 A in AC-3/AC-3e duty for motor switching up to 440 V, with a 230 V 50 Hz coil and one built-in normally-open auxiliary contact. It is designed for control applications: resistive loads and motor control, covering utilisation categories AC-1, AC-3, AC-3e, and AC-4.
The 12 A AC-3 rating is the motor-switching current — the contactor handles a 3-phase induction motor drawing 12 A during start and run. Electrical durability at that load is 1.3 million cycles, which is solid for a compact frame. For resistive loads (AC-1) it carries 20 A, but expect 300,000 cycles at that level. The AC-4 rating (72 A inrush for plugging/reversing) is good for only 20,000 cycles — that category is hard on contacts, so plan for shorter life in severe duty. Heat dissipation is 1.3 W holding, 30 VA inrush. That 1.3 W is low enough to stack several units in a small enclosure without forced cooling — but the 30 VA inrush spike matters for transformer sizing if you're powering multiple coils from a single control transformer. Mounting is on plate or rail (DIN rail compatible). Screw-clamp terminals accept 1.5 to 4 mm² solid or 0.34 to 2.5 mm² flexible with ferrule, torqued to 0.8–1.3 N·m. IP20 finger-safe protection per VDE 0106.
