Part identity and motor duty rating
The LC1K1610Q7 is a TeSys K contactor from Schneider Electric, a 3-pole device (3 NO power poles) rated for motor control in AC-3 and AC-3e utilisation categories up to 440 V, carrying a 16 A operational current. Coil inrush is 30 VA at 20 °C, holding at 4.5 VA — a standard draw for this frame size.
Standards coverage and compliance documentation
This contactor carries approvals across EN/IEC 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1, JIS C8201-4-1, and the appliance-specific IEC 60335-1 / 60335-2-40 (Annex JJ) and UL 60335-2-40 (Annex JJ). That last set matters if the contactor ends up inside HVAC equipment — the standard covers contactors used in heat-pump and air-conditioning circuits. Flame retardance is V1 per UL 94.
Wiring, mounting, and environmental limits
Screw clamp terminals accept one or two conductors: 1.5...4 mm² solid, 0.75...4 mm² flexible without ferrule, or 0.34...2.5 mm² flexible with ferrule. Tightening torque is 0.8...1.3 N·m (Philips No 2, flat 6 mm, or Pozidriv No 2). Operating temperature range is -25...50 °C, storage -50...80 °C. Altitude derating starts above 2000 m. The IP2X finger-protection rating (VDE 0106) is typical for enclosed panel mounting — not for open washdown environments. Heat dissipation is 1.3 W at rated duty.
Auxiliary contact and signalling circuit
One instantaneous NO auxiliary contact is built in. The signalling circuit can handle up to 400 Hz and switches down to 5 mA at 17 V minimum, so it works with low-level PLC inputs or pilot lights. Insulation resistance for the signalling circuit is rated at 10 MΩ. Safety reliability figures per EN/ISO 13849-1: B10d of 1,369,863 cycles under nominal load, and 20,000,000 cycles under mechanical load only. Mechanical durability is 10 million cycles; electrical durability at 16 A AC-3 / AC-3e ≤440 V is 1.3 million cycles.
