The AC-3 rating of 9 A at 440 V governs motor switching — that is the current the contactor can make and break across starting and running conditions for a standard squirrel-cage motor. AC-3e extends that to energy-efficient motors with higher inrush. The 48 V AC coil means the control transformer or PLC output must supply 48 V AC, not 24 V DC or 120 V AC — a common gotcha when substituting from a different coil voltage. IP20 (VDE 0106) means finger-safe terminals but no protection against water ingress; mount inside an enclosure rated for the environment. The 57 mm depth and 90 mm width fit the standard TeSys K footprint on a DIN rail.
Deployment context
The reversing busbar is preassembled, so the mechanical interlock between the two contactors is already in place — no risk of both closing simultaneously and shorting the phases. Use it to reverse a small conveyor motor, a fan, or a pump where the load direction must change under control. The spring terminals save panel-build time compared to screw-clamp types, especially in high-density cabinets.
