The LC3D120AU7 is a TeSys D star delta starter from Schneider Electric, pre-wired with three power poles (3 x 3P, all normally open) rated for 12 A in AC-3 motor control duty. The 240 V AC coil is built in — no separate contactor-and-timer assembly needed for the transition. It is a single-component solution for starting a three-phase motor in star-delta configuration, reducing inrush current during startup.
Pollution degree 3 means it handles conductive dust and condensation typical of industrial control cabinets. Operating temperature spans -40 to 70 °C at rated coil voltage, and storage range is -60 to 80 °C — fine for unheated warehouses or roof-mounted enclosures.
Construction and compliance
The housing is flame retardant to UL 94 V1 and withstands 850 °C glow-wire per IEC 60695-2-1. Climatic withstand meets IACS and IEC 60947-1 Annex Q Category D, with protective treatment TH per IEC 60068-2-30 for damp-heat environments. Vibration resistance is 2 Gn (contactor open) and 4 Gn (closed) over 5–300 Hz; shock resistance is 10 Gn open, 15 Gn closed for 11 ms — figures that matter if the panel is mounted on a machine frame or near a press.
