The LC3D12AFE7 is a pre-wired star delta starter from the TeSys D range, built for motor control duty under utilisation category AC-3. It carries three pole pairs (3 x 3P, all normally open) rated at 12 A, with a 115 V AC coil. The AC-3 rating means it is designed for starting and stopping squirrel-cage induction motors under load — the standard category for across-the-line motor switching where the starter makes and breaks the motor current.
The housing is rated V-0 flame retardance per UL 94 and withstands 850 °C glow-wire per IEC 60695-2-1, which is the level typically required for unattended or fire-risk industrial panels.
Operating range and climatic robustness
No derating is required up to 3000 m altitude, which covers most industrial sites outside high-mountain installations. The unit carries TH protective treatment per IEC 60068-2-30 (damp heat, cyclic) and climatic withstand conforming to IACS and IEC 60947-1 Annex Q category D — essentially, it is built to handle the condensation and temperature cycling of an unheated electrical room or outdoor cabinet with heater.
Mechanical robustness for vibration and shock
Vibration resistance is specified at 2 Gn (5–300 Hz) with the contactor open and 4 Gn (5–300 Hz) closed. Shock withstand is 10 Gn for 11 ms open, 15 Gn for 11 ms closed. These figures are relevant if the starter is mounted on a machine frame or near rotating equipment — the closed-contact ratings are the ones that govern during normal operation.
