The Schneider TeSys LC4D32AM7 is a direct-on-line (DOL) starter combining a contactor and fuse disconnector in one unit, rated for AC-3 utilisation category — the standard duty for starting and stopping squirrel-cage induction motors under load. It delivers 32 A rated operational current (Ie) and handles motor power up to 15 kW at 380–400 V AC, 15 kW at 415 V, 15 kW at 440 V, 7.5 kW at 220–230 V, 18.5 kW at 500 V, and 18.5 kW at 660–690 V, all at 50/60 Hz.
The 32 A AC-3 rating is the continuous motor current the starter can switch without overheating — not the locked-rotor or inrush current, which is higher. For a 15 kW, 400 V motor drawing roughly 29 A full-load, this starter has headroom; for a 22 kW motor it would not. The plate-mounting format means it cannot snap onto a DIN rail — it bolts to a flat surface, so panel cutouts and drilling patterns must be prepared in advance.
