Product details

The Schneider Electric TeSys LC4D40B7 is a direct-on-line (DOL) starter that integrates a fuse disconnector and a contactor in a single plate-mounted unit. Motor power capability depends on the supply voltage: 11 kW at 220–230 V AC, 18.5 kW at 380–400 V AC, 22 kW at 415 V AC, 22 kW at 440 V AC, 22 kW at 500 V AC, and 30 kW at 660–690 V AC. The 40 A rating governs the continuous current the main contacts can carry, so for a given motor you match the full-load amps — not just the kW — to that 40 A limit.

This DOL starter mounts to a plate — not a DIN rail — so factor in the panel layout: 281 mm wide, 143 mm tall, 130 mm deep. The plate-mount form factor is common in motor control centres (MCCs) and dedicated starter panels where the assembly bolts directly to a backplate rather than snapping onto a rail. Because it combines the disconnect and contactor functions, the LC4D40B7 saves panel space compared to wiring those two components separately. The 24 V AC control coil is standard for safety circuits and PLC-driven contactor banks — just verify your control transformer can supply the inrush at 24 V AC.

Frequently asked questions

Is the LC4D40B7 compatible with TeSys contactors?

The LC4D40B7 is itself a TeSys DOL starter that integrates a contactor and fuse disconnector. It is part of the TeSys range and shares the same mounting and accessory ecosystem — auxiliary contact blocks, coil suppression modules, and thermal overload relays that fit TeSys contactors are compatible.
