The Schneider Electric LE3D09P7 is an enclosed star-delta starter from the TeSys LE range, built for starting three-phase induction motors in the standard environment. It's a complete package: the polycarbonate IP65 enclosure holds three LC1D contactors, a pair of pushbuttons (green start, red stop/reset), and the wiring for the star-delta transition — you add the thermal overload relay separately.
This starter is rated for AC-3 utilisation category (IEC 60947-4-1), which is the standard duty for squirrel-cage induction motors — starting, stopping, and occasionally inching. The motor power it can handle depends on your line voltage: 4 kW at 220 V AC, and 7.5 kW at 380/400 V, 415 V, or 440 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz. So if you're on a 400 V three-phase supply, this starter covers motors up to 7.5 kW. The 9 A rating in the description refers to the full-load current the starter is designed for at the upper end of the power range. The star-delta transition itself reduces inrush current to about one-third of direct-on-line starting, which is why this type of starter is common where supply capacity is limited or you want to avoid mechanical shock to the driven load.
Enclosure and installation details
The polycarbonate body is impact-resistant to 2 J (IK07). It measures 348 mm high by 186 mm wide by 175.5 mm deep, with multiple cable entry knockouts on top and bottom: two each of ISO20, ISO25, ISO32, and ISO40 sizes.
