The Schneider Electric LE3D12N7 is an enclosed star-delta starter from the TeSys LE range, built for standard-duty motor starting in a polycarbonate enclosure. It's rated for 12 A operational current in AC-3 utilisation category, which means it handles the high inrush of a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor during start-up and then drops to the delta-run current. The 415 V AC control coil matches common European industrial supply voltages. Motor power ratings are 11 kW at 380/400/415/440 V AC and 5.5 kW at 220 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz.
Enclosure and integration
The polycarbonate body carries an IK07 impact rating, so it shrugs off accidental tool drops. Cable entries are generous: eight knockouts on top and eight on the bottom, sized ISO20, ISO25, ISO32, and ISO40. That gives you flexibility to run motor and control cables without needing an external gland plate for most installations. Terminals are screw-clamp type on both power and control circuits — standard for panel builders who prefer screw terminations over spring-cage.
The starter ships as a complete assembly including three LC1D contactors, a mechanical interlock, and two pushbuttons (green start, red stop/reset). The thermal overload relay is ordered separately — that's the one piece you need to add based on your motor's full-load current. Standard compliance is IEC 60947-4-1, which covers the low-voltage switchgear and controlgear requirements for motor starters across most industrial markets.
