The Schneider Electric LE3D18P7A04 is an enclosed star-delta starter from the TeSys LE range, designed for standard-duty motor starting in industrial control panels. It switches 18 A in AC-3 utilisation category, which covers starting and stopping of squirrel-cage motors — the rating that governs real motor load capability, not a resistive-heater figure. The enclosure carries IP65 and IK07 protection, so it handles washdown environments and mechanical impact without additional panel housing.
Motor power and voltage coverage
Motor power ratings span the common three-phase voltages: 11 kW at 220 V AC, 18.5 kW at 380/400 V AC, and 22 kW at both 415 V and 440 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz.
Physical integration and wiring
The enclosure measures 348 mm high by 186 mm wide by 167 mm deep, built in polycarbonate. Cable entry is via multiple knockouts: four ISO20, four ISO25, four ISO32, and four ISO40 on both top and bottom faces — gives flexibility for incoming supply and motor cable routing. Power and control circuit connections use screw clamp terminals, so no special tooling needed for termination. The device composition requires a thermal overload relay ordered separately, plus a mechanical interlock if paired with another contactor for reversing or two-speed duty.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-4-1, the standard for contactors and motor-starters. The IP65 and IK07 ratings mean the enclosure is dust-tight, protected against water jets, and resistant to 2 J impact — suitable for food-and-bev lines or outdoor installation under a canopy.
