The Schneider Electric LE4D09E7 is an enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from the TeSys LE range, rated for a conventional free-air thermal current of 9 A and a control circuit voltage of 48 V AC at 50/60 Hz. It is designed for standard motor-starting applications in AC-3 utilisation category, meaning it handles the high inrush of squirrel-cage motors during start-up and breaks the motor current under running conditions.
Motor power and protection
At 380/400 V AC, this starter is rated for 4 kW motor power. It also covers 4 kW at 415 V and 440 V, 2.2 kW at 220/230 V, and 5.5 kW at 500 V. The unit includes a push-button start (green I) and stop/reset (red O) on the cover. A thermal overload relay must be ordered separately; the starter itself provides the contactor and fuse-disconnect function. The associated fuse rating is 12 A, 10 x 38 mm, aM type — sized to coordinate with the 9 A thermal current and the motor's starting profile.
Physical integration
The enclosure measures 330 mm high, 186 mm wide, and 175.5 mm deep. Cable entries are provided on both top and bottom faces: each face has two ISO20, two ISO25, two ISO32, and two ISO40 knockouts, giving flexibility for different gland sizes. The polycarbonate material is impact-rated IK07 per IEC 60529, so it withstands a 0.5 J impact — enough for general industrial handling but not for heavy tool strikes.
