The Schneider Electric LE4D09P7A05 is an enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from the TeSys LE range, designed to switch and protect three-phase motors in a single enclosure. It is rated for AC-3 utilization category, meaning it handles starting and stopping of squirrel-cage motors under load. The conventional free air thermal current is 9 A, which governs the continuous current the starter can carry in its enclosure. Motor power ratings are specified per voltage: 4 kW at 380/400 V, 415 V, and 440 V AC; 2.2 kW at 220/230 V; and 5.5 kW at 500 V AC. These are the maximum motor sizes the starter can handle at each supply voltage in AC-3 duty.
The starter is designed and tested to IEC 60947-4-1, the standard for contactors and motor-starters. The associated fuse rating is 12 A, 10 x 38 mm aM type, which provides short-circuit protection coordinated with the starter's breaking capacity. Cable entry options include multiple ISO20, ISO25, ISO32, and ISO40 knockouts on both top and bottom faces, giving flexibility for conduit or gland entry in the field.
