The LE4D12B7 is an enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from the Schneider Electric TeSys LE range, designed for starting and stopping three-phase squirrel-cage motors in standard industrial environments. It integrates a contactor and push-button controls (green start, red stop/reset) in a polycarbonate enclosure rated IP65 and IK07, meaning it withstands water jets and low-energy impacts — suitable for standalone mounting near the machine rather than inside a sealed panel.
Motor power and duty
Rated for AC-3 utilisation category per IEC 60947-4-1, which covers squirrel-cage motor starting and switching off during running. At 220/230 V AC it handles 3 kW; at 380/400 V, 415 V, and 440 V it handles 5.5 kW; at 500 V AC it handles 7.5 kW. The associated fuse rating is 16 A, 10 x 38 mm aM type — this is the recommended upstream short-circuit protection to coordinate with the starter.
Physical integration
The enclosure measures 186 mm wide, 330 mm high, and 175.5 mm deep. Cable entries are provided on top and bottom: two each for ISO20, ISO25, ISO32, and ISO40 glands. The thermal overload relay is ordered separately — the starter comes as a contactor and fuse disconnector combination, so the overload relay must be selected and installed to match the motor full-load current.
