It is built for standard motor-starting applications in industrial environments, with an IP65 polycarbonate enclosure that keeps out dust and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown areas or outdoor installation where the panel needs a sealed housing.
The 12 A Ith rating is the thermal current in free air — this is the continuous current the starter can carry in its enclosure at rated conditions. For motor duty, the utilisation category is AC-3, which covers squirrel-cage motors: starting, switching off during running. The motor power table shows it handles 3 kW at 220/230 V AC, 5.5 kW at 380/400 V AC, and 7.5 kW at 500 V AC (all 50/60 Hz). That spread tells you the same unit covers a range of line voltages by adjusting the motor full-load current within the 12 A thermal limit. The associated fuse rating is 16 A, 10 x 38 mm aM (motor-protection type), which coordinates with the starter for short-circuit protection.
The starter complies with IEC 60947-4-1. The polycarbonate enclosure has IP65 and IK07 ratings per IEC 60529.
