The LE4D18P7A05 is a Schneider Electric TeSys LE enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter, rated for 18 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) and a 230 V AC 50/60 Hz control coil. It's a self-contained unit — contactor, overload relay (ordered separately), and fuse disconnector in a polycarbonate IP65 enclosure — ready to bolt onto a machine or wall, not a panel-mount component. It's designed for standard AC-3 duty (starting and stopping squirrel-cage motors), so the 18 A thermal current translates to real motor loads: 10 kW at 500 V AC, 9 kW at 415/440 V AC, 7.5 kW at 380/400 V AC, or 4 kW at 220/230 V AC. The push-button reset (blue R) means an operator can clear a trip locally without opening the enclosure.
IP65 and IK07 protection (conforming to IEC 60529) lets this starter live on the machine frame in washdown areas, dusty environments, or outdoors under a canopy — not just inside a clean control panel. The polycarbonate enclosure resists corrosion, and the cable entries (ISO20/25/32/40 top and bottom) give flexibility for routing conduit or gland in the field. Compliance with IEC 60947-4-1 covers the coordination requirements for motor starters — the associated fuse rating of 20 A aM (10x38 mm) is the factory-recommended short-circuit protection to keep the starter in the Type 2 coordination zone.
Sourcing decision
If you're freezing a BOM or chasing a line-down replacement, the first question is whether you can accept a current-series alternative (TeSys Deca) with a possible re-drill or adapter plate. If not, we can quote the LE4D18P7A05 from our surplus network — lead time depends on what's in the channel, so send the RFQ with your target date and quantity.
