The Schneider Electric LE4D25Q7 is an enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from the TeSys LE range, rated for 25 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) and a 380 V AC 50/60 Hz control coil. It is designed to start and stop three-phase induction motors up to 11 kW at 400 V AC (AC-3 utilisation category), with the motor power curve extending to 15 kW at 500 V AC. The unit integrates a contactor and fuse disconnector in a polycarbonate enclosure rated IP65 (dust-tight and hose-down resistant) and IK07 (2 J impact resistance per IEC 60529). A thermal overload relay is ordered separately — the starter itself provides the switching and short-circuit protection via the associated 25 A aM fuses (10 x 38 mm).
Cable entries are provided on both top and bottom faces, each accepting ISO 20, 25, 32, or 40 glands, giving flexibility for routing motor and supply cables without an external junction box. Rated for standard environments with an operating temperature range of -5 to 40 °C, this starter suits indoor industrial panels and machine enclosures where washdown resistance is needed but not food-grade or corrosive atmospheres.
The 25 A Ith rating is the thermal current in free air — the continuous current the main contacts can carry without exceeding temperature rise limits. The 380 V AC coil voltage means the control circuit must supply 380 V 50/60 Hz; a different coil voltage requires a different order code in the LE4D series. The IP65 enclosure allows hose-down cleaning without water ingress, and the IK07 impact rating means the polycarbonate body withstands accidental tool drops or bumping during maintenance — both relevant for food-and-beverage or light industrial lines where the starter is mounted on the machine frame rather than in a sealed cabinet.
