The LG1D182N721 is a TeSys LG enclosed direct-on-line starter — a single-box unit combining a contactor, a circuit-breaker, and a switch disconnector, all in one IP55 polycarbonate enclosure. It's designed for safety applications per IEC 60204-1 and IEC 60947-4-1, meaning it handles both motor starting and branch-circuit protection in one assembly. The thermal protection adjustment range is 17 to 23 A, and the AC-3 motor-switching rating delivers 4 kW at 220/230 V AC and 9 kW at 400/415 V AC, 50/60 Hz. That covers a lot of standard three-phase induction motors in the 4–9 kW band. The control circuit is 415 V AC, so the coil pulls straight from the line side of the starter — no separate control transformer needed if the supply matches. The enclosure carries IP55 and IK07 impact protection, which means it's dust-protected and hose-down resistant, suitable for washdown areas or outdoor installation under cover.
The AC-3 utilisation category governs making and breaking currents during motor starting. The 17–23 A thermal adjustment range lets you set overload protection to match motor full-load current. The IP55 enclosure means the unit can be mounted in a wet or dusty environment without an additional cabinet, as long as it's not directly hosed at high pressure. The IK07 rating confirms it withstands a 2 J impact — enough for accidental tool drops in a panel shop. Cable entries are four knockouts: two Pg 13 and two Pg 16 on both top and bottom. That's enough for incoming supply and motor cable plus a control cable for the pushbuttons.
Controls and operation
The front panel carries a white pushbutton for start (I), a black pushbutton for stop (O), and a red rotary handle for emergency stop. That means the starter is a complete local control station — no separate pushbutton enclosure needed. The emergency stop rotary handle is a positive-break device, which satisfies the safety-circuit requirement for a lockable disconnect at the machine. The unit is 175 mm wide, 165 mm deep, and 165 mm tall — a compact footprint for a combined starter-disconnect.
