What It Is — Enclosed DOL Starter
The LG1K065N704 is a TeSys LG enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from Schneider Electric, combining a contactor, switch disconnector, and circuit-breaker in a single IP55 polycarbonate enclosure. It is designed for safety applications per IEC 60204-1 and IEC 60947-4-1, providing motor starting and overload protection in a compact, ready-to-mount package. Rated for AC-3 utilisation category (the standard for squirrel-cage motor switching), it handles 0.18 kW at both 400/415 V AC and 440 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The thermal protection adjustment range is 0.4 to 0.63 A, meaning it is sized for very small motors — fractional-horsepower pumps, fans, or conveyor drives in light industrial or HVAC duty. The enclosure carries IP55 (dust- and water-jet protection) and IK07 impact resistance, making it suitable for floor-mounted or wall-mounted installations in washdown or outdoor-adjacent areas.
Integration & Deployment
The polycarbonate enclosure measures 165 mm deep, 175 mm wide, and 165 mm high — a compact footprint for a combined starter-disconnect. Cable entries are provided: 4 knockouts for Pg 13 and 2 for Pg 16 at both top and bottom, giving flexibility for top-entry or bottom-entry conduit runs. The front panel includes a white push-button start, black push-button stop, and a red rotary-handle emergency stop, meeting the local disconnect and E-stop requirements for a motor branch circuit. Because the unit integrates the contactor, disconnect, and overload in one housing, it simplifies panel layout — no separate DIN-rail mounting of individual components, and the IP55 rating allows placement outside a main control cabinet, close to the motor. The standard-environment classification means it is intended for normal industrial atmospheres, not corrosive or hazardous locations.
