The Schneider Electric LG7D12V716 is an enclosed direct-on-line starter from the TeSys LG range, combining a contactor and a circuit-breaker in one IP55 polycarbonate enclosure. It's built for safety applications per IEC 60204-1 and IEC 60947-4-1, with a built-in emergency stop mushroom-head pushbutton plus white start and black stop pushbuttons on the cover.
Motor power and thermal protection – what the ratings mean
Rated for AC-3 duty, this starter handles 3 kW on a 220/230 V AC line and 5.5 kW at 400/415 V or 440 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz. The thermal protection adjustment range is 9...14 A, which is the window you set the overload relay to match the motor's full-load current — so for a motor drawing 12 A FLC, you dial it in right there. The control circuit runs on 400 V AC, so the coil voltage matches a standard 400 V control supply — no step-down transformer needed if your panel already runs that voltage.
The enclosure measures 175 mm wide, 165 mm high, and 146 mm deep — sized for a standard wall-mount or machine-mount location. Cable entries: four knockouts on top and bottom, two Pg 13 and two Pg 16 per end, giving you flexibility for incoming and outgoing power and control wiring. IK07 impact rating means it survives a 0.5 J blow — fine for a machine-side install where it might get bumped by a tool or a panel door.
