The LG7D18V720 is a TeSys LG enclosed direct-on-line starter from Schneider Electric, combining a contactor and circuit-breaker in a single IP55 polycarbonate enclosure. It is rated for AC-3 motor duty with a thermal protection adjustment range of 13...18 A and a 400 V AC 50/60 Hz control coil. Motor power capability varies by supply voltage: 4 kW at 220/230 V AC, 7.5 kW at 400/415 V AC, and 9 kW at 440 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz. This means the unit is sized for a 7.5 kW motor on a standard 400 V three-phase line — the 9 kW rating at 440 V is the ceiling, not the continuous design point for a 400 V system. The enclosure carries a white push-button start, a black push-button stop, and a red mushroom-head emergency stop, making it a self-contained safety station for local motor control. It complies with IEC 60947-4-1 (contactor and starter coordination) and IEC 60204-1 (safety of machinery).
Any equivalent must also fit the IP55 polycarbonate form factor with integrated start/stop/E-stop controls.
Integration Notes
The enclosure measures 175 mm wide by 165 mm high by 146 mm deep, with four cable entries on top and four on bottom — two Pg 13 and two Pg 16 per side. This allows direct mounting to a machine frame or wall without a separate panel, though the IP55 rating means it is suited for indoor or sheltered outdoor locations, not continuous washdown. The polycarbonate enclosure carries an IK07 impact rating, so it withstands light mechanical shocks during installation or operation. The thermal protection dial is accessible inside the enclosure; set it to the motor full-load current before commissioning.
