The Schneider Electric TeSys LG7K09Q7 is an enclosed direct-on-line (DOL) starter from the TeSys LG family, built for safety applications per IEC 60947-4-1 and IEC 60204-1. It ships as a polycarbonate enclosure with a contactor and push-button controls — start (white), stop (black), and a red mushroom-head emergency stop — but the circuit breaker is ordered separately. The 9 A AC-3 rating means it switches standard three-phase squirrel-cage motors under full load, not just resistive loads; at 380/400 V AC that covers motors roughly up to 4 kW, not 5.5 kW — the AC-3 current is the binding number for motor duty.
Enclosure, cable entry, and panel fit
It carries an IP55 rating (dust-protected and hose-down resistant) plus IK07 impact resistance, so it holds up in washdown or light industrial environments where a panel-mounted starter would need a separate enclosure. Cable entries are pre-cut: four Pg 13 and two Pg 16 knockouts on both top and bottom faces, giving flexibility for incoming mains and motor leads without drilling.
Coil voltage and control circuit
The control circuit is 380/400 V AC 50/60 Hz — a common line-voltage coil in European and Asian 400 V distribution. That means no separate control transformer is needed if the panel supply matches; the coil pulls directly from the mains phase-to-phase. The push-button station is integrated: white start, black stop, and a red mushroom-head emergency stop that latches mechanically.
