The TeSys LR9D32KITD32BD is a direct on-line motor starter combining a contactor and thermal overload relay in one unit, rated for 15-25 kW at 380-440 V three-phase and 7-11 kW at 200-240 V three-phase. It's built for motor control in AC-3 duty, meaning it handles the high inrush of starting induction motors and the switching of running loads up to that power range. The thermal overload is adjustable from Class 5 to Class 30, giving you control over how quickly it trips on overload — Class 10 for standard motor protection, Class 20 for high-inertia loads like fans or flywheels, Class 30 for very heavy starts. The tripping threshold is set at 1.25 times the full-load current per IEC 60947-4-1, so the motor sees a safety margin before the starter opens.
Controls and reset options
The front panel gives you a red push-button for manual stop and reset, a gray dial for full-load current adjustment, and a red knob to select automatic reset mode. Two microswitches inside handle the trip and alarm signals, and the automatic reset time is adjustable between 1.5 and 4 minutes — useful for remote or unattended installations where you want the motor to restart after a thermal trip.
This starter carries UL 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-4-1, CSA C22.2, and GB 14048.4 approvals, so it's accepted in North American, European, and Chinese installations. The front face is rated IP20 per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106, meaning it's touch-safe but not sealed against moisture — mount it inside a panel.
Mounts under a contactor plate or on a DIN rail with specific accessories. The footprint is 45 mm wide, 72.5 mm tall, and 79.9 mm deep — a compact 3-pole block that fits standard panel layouts. Tighten power terminals to 3.1 N·m, control terminals to 0.8 N·m.
