The Schneider Electric LV846160 is a MasterPact MTZ2 air circuit breaker rated 800 A at 40 °C, 3-pole, with a 100 kA ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) at 440 V AC. For a Category B breaker (per EN/IEC 60947-2), this makes it suitable for selective coordination in a main or tie position where downstream devices clear before the main trips. The short-time withstand (Icw) is 100 kA for 0.5 s and 1 s, and 75 kA for 3 s — this is the current the breaker can carry without damage while a downstream breaker clears a fault. The making capacity (Icm) is 220 kA at 440 V AC, which covers the asymmetrical peak current during closure onto a fault. These ratings, combined with the 12 kV impulse withstand (Uimp), confirm the breaker is designed for high-fault industrial distribution where arc-flash energy and coordination studies govern the specification.
Fixed-mount design, 422 mm wide × 352 mm high × 300 mm deep. Mounts on rails or a base plate. Connection pitch is 115 mm. Both front and rear connection are available on the upside and downside, giving panel builders flexibility in busbar routing and cable entry. The IP30 enclosure degree protects against tools and wires larger than 2.5 mm — adequate for indoor switchgear but not for washdown areas.
Also complies with IEC 61557-12 for power metering. Operating altitude is 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating.
