The LV846161 is a MasterPact MTZ2 3-pole fixed circuit breaker rated 1000 A at 40 °C, with a 100 kA ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) at 440 V AC. That 100 kA figure is the same as its service breaking capacity (Ics) at that voltage — meaning after clearing a fault at full rating, the breaker is still usable without derating, not a one-shot device. It's a Category B breaker per IEC 60947-2, which means it's designed with intentional short-time delay for selectivity — you can coordinate it downstream of a larger breaker so only the faulted branch opens, not the whole switchboard. The 100 kA short-time withstand (Icw) for 1 second confirms it can hold that current through a delayed trip without welding contacts. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V AC. Impulse withstand is 12 kV.
Fixed-mount chassis, 422 mm wide by 352 mm tall by 300 mm deep. Connection pitch is 115 mm on the busbars. Top and bottom connections can be front or rear — that's a field choice during install, not a factory option you have to lock in at order time. Mounts on rails or a base plate; the fixed format means you're bolting it into a switchboard, not pulling it out on a cradle. IP30 protection — that's finger-safe from the front but not sealed. It expects to live inside an enclosure, not out in a washdown area.
Current production. The MasterPact MTZ2 platform is Schneider's active high-end air breaker line.
