The Schneider Electric LV846543 is a MasterPact MTZ2 fixed circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 1600 A at 40 °C with an ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) of 50 kA at 1150 V AC. It's a Category B breaker (selectivity category per IEC 60947-2), meaning it's designed for main distribution panels where you need discrimination between upstream and downstream faults — a blown feeder shouldn't take the whole board down. Rated operational voltage is 1150 V AC, insulation voltage 1250 V AC, impulse withstand 12 kV. The short-time withstand (Icw) holds 50 kA for up to 3 seconds — that's the rating that matters when coordinating with downstream breakers in a selective scheme.
Mounting, connections, and panel fit
Fixed mounting on rails or base plate. Both upside and downside connections are rear — that's the standard for switchboard lineups where busbars run behind the breaker. Dimensions: 422 mm wide, 352 mm high, 300 mm deep. Connection pitch is 115 mm. IP30 enclosure protection (finger-safe, not water-resistant). Operating altitude 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating.
Mechanical durability is 25,000 cycles with periodic preventive maintenance; electrical durability is 500 cycles at rated voltage. Maximum breaking time 25 ms, closing response 70 ms.
