630 A switch-disconnector for distribution — MasterPact MTZ1 06HA
The LV847249 is a Schneider Electric MasterPact MTZ1 06 HA switch-disconnector rated for 630 A continuous at 690 V AC, 50/60 Hz. It is a 4-pole drawout unit mounted on a chassis, designed for distribution applications where a visible-break isolation switch is not required — the contact position indicator confirms open/closed state. The 75 kA peak short-circuit making capacity (Icm) at 220–690 V AC means it can close onto a fault without welding contacts, which is the real-world test for a switch-disconnector in high-fault-capacity panels.
The 20 kA short-time withstand current (Icw) for 3 seconds — and 36 kA for 0.5 s — tells you the switch can ride through a delayed upstream breaker trip without self-destructing. That is the selectivity figure a site electrical engineer needs for coordination studies.
The drawout mechanism allows the switch to be racked out for maintenance without disturbing the power connections — a standard feature for MasterPact switchgear. The 70 mm connection pitch matches standard MasterPact drawout cradle spacing. IP30 protection is typical for enclosed switchgear — the panel door provides the environmental seal.
